For the past two years at the beginning of every summer I've been having my hair ombré'd. I love how I look with lighter hair, especially with a tan! This past weekend I visited Brooke at The Bird House salon in Brooklyn and she got right to work.
I requested subtle soft golden shades to lighten my brunette locks and really small face framing highlights to give my complexion a sunny summertime glow. The technique Brooke used is called ecaille which means tortoiseshell. Brooke was able to give me multidimensional tones which were painted, not foiled, into the hair. She also used balayage throughout the mid-sections and added some lightness in the front of the face, which helps to brighten my eyes. I think it gave me a richer, more luxurious feeling than ombré. It's such a natural look that I just love.
My hair looks sophisticated, polished and natural all at the same time. Sun-kissed and summery if I do say so myself. It's just what I wanted! Thank you Brooke!
